Mother's Day card for my Daughter Cindy.

In just eight days it will be Mother's Day. It will be my oldest daughter, Cynthia, third Mother's Day !!! She is so awesome !!! She not only is a mommy (to my only grandson) and a wife, but she is about to start her last year as a Resident of Pediatrics. She drives everyday an hour and a half each way to the hospital. She has to stay every four days overnight in the hospital to work. She has passed all her USMLE tests and is thinking on specializing even more, once she finishes General Pediatrics.
My project today is the Mother's Day card I made for my daughter Cindy.
  • RECIPE:
    • cartridges:
      • Nursery Tails: card background
      • A Child's Year: silhouette of mother and child
    • Spellbinders Embossing Dies Ribbon Tag
    • Prima Flowers
    • Stickles
    • Stamp Set: Mom You Rock (by My Creative Time) for sentiment
    • Martha Stewart border punch: for the fence
    • Doodlebug Design Crushed Velvet flock: for flower center
  • Print and cut the background image 2 or 3 times, to allow for enough pieces for layering.
    • Cut the mother and child silhouette.
    • Make the fence with the border punch
  •  Put the "mat"together.
  • Layer the background and add stickles
  • Put the silhouette on the card. Affix with glue dots
  • Ink fence and affix to card with glue dots
  • Stamp sentiment on white cardstock and run through Big Shot with die. Loop a ribbon through openings.
  •  Add card front to "mat". Affix card front/mat to a white card base.
  •  Flower has 2 layers of petals. The blue flower center was made with crushed velvet flock.
  •  Sentiment on ribbon tag

Hope you liked the card !!! And I really, really hope my daughter loves it !!!

Happy Mother’s Day!

This adorable box would be perfect to hold a pair of earrings for your mother or it could be used to hold a special birthday present. I love how it looks like a card, but is really a box. In fact, you could even use this as a party favor. The All Wrapped Up Cartridge is so versatile!

This image is on page 10 of the manual and all layers are cut at 10.6 inches. I wanted it to look like it was lined, so I printed the card base on yellow paper. The rest of the layers are printed on Epson photographic paper. Super simple!

Here is a side view of the box.

Since there are no tick or fold marks on this cut, here is a quick diagram as to how to fold. I used a ruler and a stylus, but you could also use the Scor-Pal or the Martha Stewart Score Board. I used a black pen to stitch around the top piece, added glitter, rhinestones and then assembled the layers using pop dots. Lastly, I assembled the box using a glue stick.

Birthday Easel Card

A friend of mine, who is a big dog lover, is celebrating her birthday this week. I thought that this image from the Imagine Better Together cartridge would be perfect for her! I also thought it would be fun to make her an easel card.

To make the easel card, I first took a piece of 4 1/4" x 11" cardstock and scored it at 2 3/4" and 5 1/2".

After folding it, I put ATG tape just on the section shown, and then adhered a piece of 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" cardstock.

This is how it looks from the side. I flood filled rectangles from Better Together and Best Friends for my background layers. Don't you just love the Best Friends cloud pattern? I use that one so much!

With an easel card, you need to have a popped image that will help prop up the top part of the card. For mine, I took a little 2.2" framed sentiment from Better Together and separated it into layers. I just used the two base layers so that I could add my own sentiment from My Creative Time's "Wow! So Many Candles" stamp set. I also added a 1.4" cupcake from Better Together.

My girl and her dog are cut at 4". I used the layers and popped them up to give more dimension and added a couple of gems on her hair bows.

Easter Challenge WINNER

Good Morning Everyone!!

I hope your Easter holiday was a great one!  We've been battling quite a few spring storms here in Texas and while the day was overcast, the projected rain held off for most of the day and our kids not only enjoyed the easter egg hunts, but spent some fun time in the pool too!  Now, of course I took way too many pictures and will  need a whole week just to scrapbook one day's worth of photos!  LOL!

I want to congratulate CASSANDRA from 'Cricut Croppin' with Cassandra' for being the winner of our EASTER CHALLENGE!!  Look at her adorable card!  If you haven't already been to Cassandra's blog to see the details you can go HERE.

"Just A Little Hello" card.

Hello!!!! I am so excited !!! Today I got to use for the very first time my Gypsy with my Imagine after the latest update. I designed the front of the card with it's layers using the "Imagine" section of the Gypsy, and was able to "save" my design for future use. Then, I needed to weld two circles to create the card base. For that, I used the regular Gypsy features by welding two circles on the Create a Critter cartridge, but I cut the image with the Imagine, while having the Gypsy still connected to it. I used a sand colored cardstock for the card base.
I choose a cute, all occasion card for my project. One can never have too many of those !!!
  • RECIPE:
    • cartridges:
    • cardstock: American Crafts (white) ; DCWV (sand color)
    • ribbon
    • Sakura Gelly Roll glitter pens in blue and stardust
    • sienna and blue-green ink for inking borders
  • Design project on the Gypsy. Follow the instructions on the Gypsy and Imagine screens. Print and cut.

  • Cut the card base by welding 2 circles and a square in the middle of the circles. Glue a bird to the inside of the card.

  • Put together all the layers. Paint the bird with glitter pens.

  • I did the "COMBINED" version of the card, to compare vs. the layered card.

Once more, thank you for stopping by. Have a Happy Easter Sunday :)

Happy Easter

I am so excited, today I am participating in my first ever Blog Hop. To join in on the fun, hop over to my blog. Now back to today’s project.

As you all know, I recently bought the All Wrapped Up Imagine Cartridge and I am in love with the vibrant colors and designs!

For this cute and easy card, I used the card and all the layers located on page 21 of the handbook. I cut the card at 9 inches. I wanted a 3-D look, so I attached the wings with a little glue stick and bent them. I added rhinestones and was finished! This card is so versatile you could use it for Easter, Mother’s Day or for a birthday card!

I love the envelopes on this cart! The envelope is on page 21 and flood filled with paper from page 40 to match my card. This cart is now my go-to envelope cartridge!

Happy Easter with the Imagine!

Today I made an Easter card with my Imagine that fits into a business size envelope. I used the Imagine Yummy cartridge, because its colors and patterns are perfect for Spring!

My candy jar is cut at 7". I seperated it into layers and first just cut the pink layer. Then I cut the background layer using "cut only" and a transparency to get a clear "glass" look. My eggs are from Doodlecharms. They are cut at 1" and 1.6" and filled with colors and patterns from Yummy. The swirly brown background layer is also from Yummy. To get it, I flood-filled one of the stock rectangles (the 1:2) from the Imagine, cutting it at 4.5". Then I just trimmed it down to the size I needed.

My sentiment is from My Creative Time's "Color Me Happy" stamp set (perfect for Easter). I stamped it onto a little tag that I die cut with the Papertrey Ink Tiny Tags Die and fastened it to my jar with a pretty brad.

Have you entered our Easter challenge yet? You still have a few days to enter and have a chance to win a Kate's Kitchen Imagine cartridge!

Easter Egg decor

My daughter loves dying her Easter Eggs every year & I always try to do cute little things to decorate them. We haven't dyed them yet but I have started making these cute little wraps to put around them after she gets them ready. I used the Nursery Tails ( I can't believe how much I use this cartridge for everything but baby ) the bunny is from a layer of one of the images & the borders are located in the icons. I made them very small, the borders were .7 & I made 2 & taped them together & then taped them in the back. The bunnies were .3 & they go all the way around, you could also do a bigger bunny & just put one on the front & if you did that I would make 2 & use a pop dot do it would really stand out. Just some more ideas. These are so cute & fast & easy to make, now I am ready for her to dye her eggs so I can put these on them. Have a great week! Happy crafting!
